Trump pulled out of Thursday's scheduled debate when the commission in charge of organizing the event said it would be held virtually after he contracted the coronavirus. A final debate is still scheduled for Oct 22 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Trump said last week that he would impose a 5 percent tariff on all imported Mexican goods beginning June 10 so as to pressure the country to stop the flow of undocumented migrants crossing the border, and will gradually increase tariffs until the problem is remedied, drawing extensive criticism both domestically and abroad.
Trump's defense argued neither charge constituted a crime or impeachable offense, that he was within his rights as president to make decisions about foreign policy and what information to give Congress, and that the House pursued a flawed and one-sided process before impeaching him on Dec 18.

Trump oversaw the signing of the US-Japan Trade Agreement and US-Japan Digital Trade Agreement, which slashed Japanese tariffs on .2 billion worth of US food and agricultural imports while cutting US tariffs on million in Japanese agricultural goods. It also eased quotas on Japanese beef imports.
Trump will reportedly sign an executive order to suspend the visas through the end of the year, as the administration is addressing a major economic fallout, including high unemployment among Americans, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump signed the one-page memorandum Tuesday authorizing the Department of Defense to create the new command.
Trump claimed, despite the results, that this may not be his last Thanksgiving at the White House. And he insisted there had been "massive fraud", even though state officials and foreign observers have said no evidence of that exists and Trump's campaign has repeatedly failed in court.
Trump said, he had directed Mnuchin to meet with senators on an additional stimulus package. "There's tremendous spirit," he said.
