Wuxi has held three World IoT Expos since 2016, and many of the country's leading firms have initiated major high-tech projects in the city, including Huawei, Alibaba and home appliance leader Haier.
Xi expressed his congratulations and greetings to scientists, young students and support staff who joined the country's second comprehensive scientific expedition to the plateau.
Xi made the remarks while meeting with visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. It's the German leader's 11th visit to China.

Xi spoke of improving living conditions through relocation and called for better supporting measures that would ensure income sources for residents.
