Xi said in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the second CIIE, which started in Shanghai on Tuesday, that the proper business environment provides the necessary conditions for enterprises to survive and thrive. Xi spoke of the need to champion the concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, solve disputes through consultation and negotiation, and oppose interference in others' internal affairs as well as unilateral sanctions and the "long-arm jurisdiction" to jointly foster a peaceful and stable environment for development.
Xi arrived here Friday for the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia and a state visit to Tajikistan.

Xi stressed the importance of strengthening the party’s leadership in the urgent and tough battle against pollution.
Xi headed the Central Leading Group for Deepening Overall Reform, established in late 2013. The group has had 36 meetings so far to discuss a wide range of issues, including poverty alleviation, healthcare, employment and education, all aimed at improving people's lives.
Xi also called for implementing an open, green economy with a transparent development concept and building a sustainable and inclusive global economy.
Xi pointed out that China deems France and Europe as key forces to maintain the world’s stability and prosperity, and said China and France should keep close communications on major global and regional issues.
